Learning Disabilities
Usually blood has no trouble reaching the brain, but
the only way blood drains out of the brain is through motion of the cranial
bones.
Good nerve cell function and growth depend on cellular waste material
removal through healthy blood circulation and on the free circulation
of cerebral spinal fluid. If cranial bones don’t move, the brain’s
cellular capability and growth is compromised.
Clinical research conducted by Viola Frymann, D.O. at the Osteopathic
Center for Children in San Diego from 1986-89 clearly showed that osteopathic
manipulative treatment incorporating the cranial concept improved neurological
development and learning abilities in neurologically-impaired children.
Learning
disabilities, including ADD and hyperactivity, are a multi-faceted problem.
Nutrition and heredity play important roles, but the osteopathic
premise that good function of organs and nerve cells starts with free
physiological motion of the musculo-skeletal system cannot be underestimated.
It is the first place to start with any health issue.
Along with osteopathy,
I offer nutritional counseling and homeopathy. Homeopathy is one of the
main ways to address hereditary
problems and also a way to stimulate the body’s self-healing mechanism.
A constitutional remedy may be needed to help complete the healing.
