Migraine Headaches
Cranial sacral osteopathy was made famous by its success with migraine headaches.
Dr. Sutherland, the discoverer of cranial bone motion, successfully treated a film
producer for migraine headaches in the 1940s. This man was
so impressed that he wanted to make a film about the technique. At the time, Dr. Sutherland
felt that an educational film for students learning the technique
was more appropriate, and that was done. This film is still in use today.
United States President Dwight Eisenhower was successfully treated
for migraine headaches with cranial sacral osteopathy.
Often the middle meningeal artery, inside the cranium, is involved
in migraine headache patterns. Free motion of all the cranial bones needs
to occur for good brain function.
Other causes of migraines can be digestive or hormonal imbalance,
but addressing the body’s structure and the cranial bone motion
is the place to start.
